Challenge

Oneda works with marble from the first cut of the block to the last polish of the slab. Based in Durrës, the company was preparing to reach architects and designers well beyond Albania, people who judge a material by what it promises as much as by how it looks. The brand needed to stand beside the stone with the same quiet authority.

In this category, the product usually speaks and the company stays silent. Catalogues show slabs, price lists follow, and one quarry begins to sound like the next. Oneda needed a presence that could hold its own next to the material while leaving the material in charge. The task was to build character without adding noise.

Every decision traced back to a single idea, which became the brand’s tagline: “Iconic by Nature”. It is the principle the whole system was built around, not a line added at the end. Nobody designs the veining in marble. Pressure and time do that, over millions of years, and Oneda’s role is to choose the right block and reveal what is already inside it.

The voice follows the same restraint: refined, confident, minimal, and free of trends. “Nature creates the masterpiece. We reveal it.” says in two sentences what the tagline means. Copy runs in English and Albanian side by side, while “Iconic by Nature” stays in English in both, so a local client and an international specifier meet the same brand.

The mark is a wordmark in wide, heavy capitals, with a small “Stone Art” descriptor beneath. Broad and low, it sits like a slab laid flat, confident enough to read across a stone yard and composed enough for a business card. The name leads and the descriptor supports, and light and dark versions let the surface behind it set the mood.

The rest of the language stays close to the material: dark, quiet and mineral, with soft greys and a single warm tone used sparingly, the way warmth appears in a vein. Real marble became the backdrop wherever the brand appears, so the identity supports the stone and never competes with it.

At larger scale, the same wordmark was adjusted rather than redrawn. It is set into the base of the headquarters facade, lifted over the gantry crane in the stone yard, and stitched tonally onto a black work jacket. Whether read from a distance, at night under the facade lighting, or at arm’s length, it remains unmistakably Oneda.

Online, “Iconic by Nature” is set in an editorial serif over a marble photograph, so a visitor meets the material and the line before anything else. A tonal emboss on dark board carries the same idea into print, with one impression and no decoration.

What emerged is a system, not a set of assets. It can absorb new collections, finishes and markets without being redrawn, and it gives Oneda a presence as settled as the stone it sells.
